Staying fit is the outcome of a healthy and peaceful mind and body. For a healthy body you resort to healthy food and exercise. For a healthy and calm mind you need to develop good control on your mind so that you do not get disturbed and stressed in different situations easily. The key to this ‘meditation’. When you enroll for yoga classes at a ‘yoga retreat’ or ‘meditation retreat’, they teach you the art of meditating. However, while they teach you to meditate, its you who has to train your mind in such a way that you be able to meditate. If you face problems of focusing while in meditation, here are three basic things that will help you meditate easily.

“If you are not kind to your neighbors, if you are not loving towards your fellowmen, if you are not thankful to God for all that HE has given you – then forget about meditation. It is of no use to you and meditation will never be helpful to you.”
Meditation needs clean soul and a pure mind. If you have jealous, anger, greed, a feeling to pull others down and take revenge, you can never prepare your mind for meditation. You need to be peaceful inside and for this you have to be good to others. Every person in your life is important and you have to be good to everyone. Not only human beings be kind to animal’s plants etc and be kind to the mother earth.
Ever act of kindness will help you meditate better.
2. Thank God for everything you have: Stop crying for what you don’t have. There are many who do not have even the basic necessities of life like food clothing and shelter. If you have this thank God for the same. You are lucky that God has blessed you with al this. Thank him for what He does and what He gives rather than complaining. He knows what you need when you need so thank Him and create a feeling of satisfaction inside yourself. This feeling of satisfaction is essential because it will help to have a clear soul and a calm mind.
3. Just remind your self that you are an Ordinary person:You are a simple human being. Beyond a certain limit you cannot do anything. You must know your limits. You must know what you can do. Keep realistic expectations from yourself so that you don’t get irritated. Remember that you area normal human being and not a superhero. These three basic things will help you meditate easily. These three things from the basics of meditation. Learn the art of meditation at a yoga retreat and realize the difference it creates in your life.
